Tips for good digestion

  • Chew well! Take time over meals.
  • Hydration is essential for health and wellbeing. Aim to drink 1 litre of water each day.
  • Take drinks at room temperature, spread throughout the day; avoid large amounts at a time.
  • Sip only small amounts of water when eating to avoid bloating.
  • Eat less processed and more whole food.
  • Eat smaller portions of high quality food.
  • Rotate your foods so that you have a varied diet.
  • Eat food that is in season, chemical free and locally grown where possible.
  • Avoid fizzy drinks and squash.
  • Minimise the use of tea and coffee.
  • Avoid chewing gum.
  • Be relaxed whilst eating – enjoy meals.
